Miš Publishing
With a twenty-year history in publishing and thirty years in book sales, Miš Publishing is a family-run publishing firm. Initially operating as a niche publisher, it expanded through various tactics such as catering to distinct markets in terms of production volume and calibre, ultimately becoming one of Slovenia's most distinguished children's publishers today.
Every year, the publishing house releases forty to fifty new titles, three quarters of which are youth works by excellent Slovene and foreign authors, and the remainder are translations of excellent books, primarily from countries whose literature has yet to be introduced to the Slovene public more than marginally. Children's and young adult literature make up nearly two thirds of Miš's published publications.
We can compress the mission of the publishing house into these words: '...to follow the needs of Slovene readers of different reading capabilities by releasing recognized literary works, original Slovene as well as translations, while focusing on the quality of the texts, illustrations, and implementation. We build long-term relations with our buyers, readers and authors through our constant striving for perfection.'
